New MD-80 build

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3svFTvKjRik

This is the new Super 80 I’ve just built. Brock from Scalejets.net produced the plastic nose and the rest of the model is built around it. Brock did a fantastic job on this mold, definitely on par with the 757 noses he produced. This model has my 3rd rendition of clamshell reversers on it and the IPhone footage speaks for itself. I test flew the model this morning and was thrilled with the it’s performance. No flight footage as of yet, will post some when I get back from this trip.

      Rick,

Your MD is looking great. I own 2 of those Airfield Corsairs and I can say for sure that the sequencer only keeps the main gear doors open with the mains extended. The P-51 I saw u mention on RC Groups does not have doors at all, my buddy Elvis from the videos owns one. Hope you find a suitable solution.-Mike

Great job on the MD-80. Is this another card model you used for your build? I like how the bucket pushrods are hidden on this version….. looks real clean.

No, this one was built around a vacuum molded nose section I got from Brock at Scalejet.net. His website is down right now but i have his number if you want to purchase one. You blow up 3-views to match the fuselage diameter and go from there. The 757 is built around one of his noses as well.-Mike

  5. Mike. . . I’m thinking your sweet MD might become a Delta or maybe a PSA md-83 or 88? we’ll see soon!
